How to Actually Relax on Vacation (Without Planning a Thing)

You know the drill. You’re trying to Relax on Vacation… but somehow, you end up planning restaurant reservations, coordinating flights, managing the group chat, and

Googling “best things to do in ____” while everyone is having fun.

Sound familiar?

Too often, we treat vacations like another to-do list instead of what they should be: a reset, a break, a chance to breathe.

If you’re tired of being the one who always plans the trip (and never fully enjoys it), this one’s for you.

Here’s how to actually Relax on Vacation:

1. Let go of the planning. This is the biggest one. True rest starts when you stop carrying the mental load. Whether it’s booking transfers or choosing between 17 beachfront hotels, let someone else (👋🏽 hi, that’s me) handle it.

2. Don’t overpack your itinerary. You don’t need to see everything. A well-curated trip balances experiences with downtime, a morning catamaran sail followed by a nap by the pool? Yes, please.

3. Say no to decision fatigue. Where to eat, what to wear, what time to leave… All of that can be handled before you step on the plane. You deserve a vacation where all you have to do is show up.

4. Travel with the right people. You know the saying, protect your peace. That goes for who you travel with, too. One reason I created group getaways? So you could travel with women who get it.

5. Choose experiences that restore you. A curated escape should feed your soul, not drain it. Think: meaningful connection, beautiful backdrops, incredible food, and time to just be.

That’s exactly what I build into every trip I plan, especially our women’s group getaways. So if you're ready to stop planning and start actually relaxing, check out Isla Glow: Aruba or sign up for information on our next escape.

Your out-of-office is waiting 💌
